Will & Alison's Engagement Party
Went downtown to the Viveza Gallery for one of my childhood friends engagement parties. So much fun. You know the story, slideshow of the kids growing up being projected on the wall, the compilation of images from 'through the years' on poster board, parents partying and catching up with their kids friends, music, wine, snacks, and the celebration of two people finding love.
Saw a few more people I haven't seen in a long time. Some had come home for the holidays from the East Coast, some I used to play soccer with, etc. So many mini reunions going on.
It was good to see Will. He's a friend I wish I would have hung out with more. Just an all around good guy who always portrays a positive attitude and fun to be around. I'm sure I will get to know his finance better, but so far I'm sold! Alison seems to be a good match for Will. Dave (Will's brother) through a great engagement party for them. Well done Dave.
After a few hours at the gallery, we then ended the night at one of my favorite old hangouts, The Cyclops. Love that place. Good drinks, atmosphere, and food. Then I looked at my watch and couldn't believe the time. Damn, I had to get up early for skiing the next day and it was getting late. Time to go.
Earlier in the evening I was at the Seattle Yacht Club for my grandma Gloria's 94th birthday party. Wow. She is an impressive lady for reasons well beyond her age.
