PROFESSIONAL
EXPERIENCE:
INTERNATIONAL SPORTS MARKETING MANAGER
– WINTERSPORTS
Helly Hansen Inc // Bellevue, Washington
11/25/2002-5/31/2006
Created and executed a 3-year integrated marketing plan. The strategy revolved around leveraging team riders through photo shoots, film sponsorships, media buys, communication tools, product development, and driving editorial and film content through business relationships. Positioning the athletes as individuals representing an identity, not just pro athletes wearing a product.

Worked with multiple agencies on branding, brand collateral, brand videos, creation of briefs, print ads, posters, POS, consumer catalogs, buyer's guides, promo items, web layout and content, copy writing, press releases, film productions, and company presentations.

Produced and directed the Helly Hansen promotional films, {LIFTED} and HAPPY HAPPY, which became the most distributed Wintersport films of 2003 and 2004. These films became an industry first by being tipped into ads for free within ski and snowboard publications. Responsible for licensing music, generating and sourcing footage, packaging, creative, production, and distribution. {LIFTED} and HAPPY HAPPY became the "best marketing practice" and highest leveraged marketing tool for Helly Hansen.

Established arguably the best International Ski Team in the industry and greatly improved the status of the International Snowboard Team. Managed approximately 20 athletes, negotiated contracts, worked with regional markets for public appearances, involvement in films, competitions, photo shoots, and product development.

Negotiated and formulated the International Media Buy, including print ads, poster inserts, DVD inserts, web banners, DVD bumpers, subscription giveaways, sweepstakes, editorial stories, public relations, and product features. Achieved consistent brand communication on a global level.

Managed aspects of the Wintersport photo shoots, wrote creative briefs, provided art direction, edited images, managed global image bank, and selected images for communication tools. Responsible for selection and contract negotiations of photographers, and coordinated location, resort relations, and travel arrangements. Drove editorial and film content by inviting magazine editors and cinematographers on photo shoots, achieving a high ROI.

Managed sponsorships of the number one ski film, Matchstick Productions, and one of the top three snowboard film companies, Absinthe Films. Worked with film companies to create rider segments, intros, editorial stories, posters, film tours, promo products, and negotiated terms of contracts. Received all Helly Hansen video content each season and managed video assets.
